Directions

Most visitors not within the Wirral area will get to the club via the motorway network.

From the South on the M6 J20, turn west on to the M56 (to Runcorn).

At M56 J15 turn north on to the M53 (to Ellesmere Port and Birkenhead). Take M53 J2 (to Morton and Hoylake). At first roundabout take last exit into A551 Upton Road (to Morton). Next roundabout take first exit into A553 Hoylake Road. Continue along this road, driving through traffic lights at crossroads (where it becomes A553 Birkenhead Road), then through the 40mph section. Returning to 30mph section, continue past Meols Train Station (on right). Look out for pedestrian crossing after Total petrol station (on left), then turn right into Hoyle Road. After Dovedale Road (third left), you'll see the community centre/WSYC car park entrance just before the T-Junction at the end of the road.

From the north, our regular visitors recommend picking up the M56 west (to Runcorn) from M6 J20, then follow the directions above.

Parking

There is limited parking at the club house. We share the space with the community and children's nursery centres, and must take care not to block access as the centres are in constant use. For this reason, WSYC parking is only permitted on the right-hand side of the courtyard, adjacent to the club's facilities. Please take care not to block the entrance to the fenced compound (yacht storage area), as the yachts need lots of space to move them in and out. Please do not obstruct the access road into the courtyard. It is in constant use by the community centre. A new access has been created from the courtyard to the North Parade. Please note that this is outbound-only - inbound access is via the entrance on Hoyle Road. There is plenty of parking space on the parade however.

Please note that the Northern Parade is one-way only, and is best entered as follows: Drive through Hoylake town on the A553, through the shopping area to the roundabout. Turn right into Kings Gap (large hotel on right), then bear right where the road splits. There is a sharp right-hand bend which marks the start of the Northern Parade one-way road.

Many pilots drive this way to the club, even though it's quicker to get there via Hoyle Road - your first opportunity to inspect the site as you travel to the club!

For a shorter route to the Northern Parade, drive passed Hoyle Road (on right), then turn right into Trinity Road (2nd right). Drive to end of road and turn right at T-junction (see map above).

Please be careful when crossing the Northern Parade on foot, with or without your yacht/buggy. Cyclists (and confused drivers!) often pass on this road the wrong way! Check both directions before crossing the road. Please be careful not to obstruct pedestrians and other road users as you cross the road with your yacht/buggy. If the road is busy, please ask another member to assist you if you cannot safely cross the road on your own.
