Club facilities

The club house is part of the local community centre and comprises several buildings. The main club house is our meeting room and a place to relax (particularly if the weather is bad!). A kitchen is attached to the meeting room.

Next to the club house is another room used as a storage area for sails, masts and other equipment. There are showers here and several toilets. A couple of hard working club members recently fitted a door between the club house and shower/toilet block, so there's no longer any need to walk outside to use these facilities!

Next is the workshop with more available storage space. Large enough to take a class 3 sand yacht, there are tools here which may be used to repair or modify equipment. Please note that some of the equipment here is potentially dangerous if used incorrectly.Please seek help from members who are familiar with this equipment before attempting to use it. In addition to the tools in the workshop, a sewing machine is available in the clubhouse which can be used to make or repair sails, kites, buggy seats, etc.

Finally there's the fenced compound which is used mainly to store sand yachts, but there's plenty of room left for storage of other equipment. The gates on the compound are very large, and please do not obstruct them when you park your vehicles as sand yachts require a lot of space to move them in or out. Sand yachters appreciate a hand when doing this, so get involved if you possibly can!

Finally, there is the garage, which houses the John Deere bike and the tractor. For insurance purposes, only members who have been trained to use these vehicles can operate them. DO NOT take them out of you have not received the proper training!
