Membership

Wirral Borough Council licensed Wirral Sandyacht Club to use Sandyachts and Parakarts on the Hoylake sandbank. Membership was limited to 150 during 2004 for safety reasons but a review has enabled this to be increased to 175 for 2005 onwards. Anyone wishing to join WSYC should contact the Membership Secretary.

Please note that at this time, speedsails, landboards or mountain boards having 'weightshift' steering are NOT permitted on the bank.

Membership details

These are reviewed each year at the club's AGM and are subject to change. Please contact us if wish to learn more about the club, or intend to use the sailing site.

Membership fees are calculated prior to the commencement of each new year. Membership and insurance runs from January to December. Membership fees are discounted after June (new members only), but the full BFSLYC affiliation and insurance fees are payable all year. The cost for additional family members (and juniors) is also reduced. Fees for existing members may also be discounted prior to January or February.

2009 Membership

In 2009, the cost of a single adult membership is £65, but this is reduced to £55 if your membership application is received before March. The fee includes the club subscription, a contribution to the Hoylake Community Centre, BFSLYC membership and BFSLYC insurance fee.
