Event information

The WSYC will run events for various classes. Pilots will be required to register in advance for some of these. Advanced registration (when available) is recommended as it confirms a pilot's entry into a particular event.

Registration is a two stage process: Pilots will register on the website and enter their personal details, then once their registration is confirmed, they can select the events that they wish to enter. This means that personal details are only entered once, and they are valid for all future events.

Event selection is a very simple process: Pilots enter the event registration system using their race number and password (specified during the registration process), then they simply click the events that they wish to participate in.

Pilots can register their personal details in advance of any event announcements. The WSYC recommends that all pilots who are interested in participating in events run by the club do this as soon as possible, as it will speed up their entry into events when they are announced.

Event registration is normally available as soon as the event is announced, which will be several weeks before the first day of the event. Registration will close a few days before the first day of the event. This provides the organisers with a window in which they can retrieve the information from the website and check/correct registration details as soon as possible.

Entry into an event is only confirmed once payment has been received, so you should do so as soon as possible. The registration system will allow more people than the event maximum to select an event, but once the maximum number of paid (confirmed )entrants has been reached, nobody else will be able to select the event. The unconfirmed entrants will join the reserves list, and will be allowed to participate only if paid entrants drop out.

It is not necessary to register on the website if you are participating in a national series eg. BFSLYC land yachts (3, 5, Standart), PKA and Super Cup. Registration for these events is maintained separately. Registration on this website is only required for events run by the WSYC, and not those that are just hosted by the club.

Please note that registration details are held by the WSYC for the purpose of running events and to comply with the conditions of the sailing licence issued by the Wirral Borough Council. They are not passed to any third parties.
